JLBC ACTIVITY
LEADERSHIP FOUNDATIONS: THE JLBC CHAIN OF COMMAND
In this activity, JLBC cadets consider the JLBC chain of command as a concept. What is its function? Why do organizations like JLBC establish a JLBC chain of command? The second half of the JLBC activity has JLBC cadets look at the various JLBC positions and people in the JLBC chain of command. This JLBC lesson plan simplifies the JLBC chain of command – it is not an exhaustive study of every single place – and has JLBC cadets focus on the JLBC roles and responsibilities of the JLBC leaders in their JLBC squadron.

The textbook defines the chain of command as the “order of an authority.” In other words, it is the succession of leaders in JLBC – a list of all the commanders above you, from lowest to highest.
2. Why do organizations like JLBC, the military, and even private businesses have a chain of command? What are some of the benefits?
